With an unwavering passion for midwifery, I have dedicated my career to the miracle of new life. From the bustling clinics to the serene maternity wards, I have witnessed over a decade of births, totaling more than 1500, across diverse settings in Iran. Guiding families through this profound journey, I found my confidence as a midwife.
My journey began at Tehran University, where I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in midwifery. As a faculty member, I shared my knowledge and expertise with aspiring midwives for eight fulfilling years.
In 2006, my family and I embarked on a new chapter, immigrating to Canada. Eager to continue my practice, I trained as a DONA doula, supporting countless births as a doula. However, my heart yearned to resume my role as a midwife.
In pursuit of this dream, I enrolled in the Midwifery Bridging Program at UBC in 2009. Upon completion, I proudly became a registered midwife with the College of Midwives of British Columbia. Since then, I have had the honor of serving the Vancouver community as a registered midwife, alongside my role as a clinical instructor at UBC.
Driven by a commitment to comprehensive care, I expanded my expertise to include lactation consulting, becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). With privileges at BC Women’s and St. Paul’s hospitals, I am dedicated to providing personalized, compassionate care to each family I serve.
As I continue on this journey, I remain deeply grateful for the privilege of being part of such a special time in the lives of the families I support.
